Thanks go out to Jason Bramwell and AccountingWeb for a great article about our 2013 Social Media Survey. We appreciate all of your help promoting our survey and look forward to sharing the survey results with you!
It looks like we discovered a popular topic with the Just For Fun question in our 2013 social media survey. The question asked participants to share with us their favorite place to get ice cream or gelato. The responses so far tell us that people like talking about ice cream & gelato!
We have received some votes for Capogiro Gelato Cafe in Philadelphia. How cool is it that a gelatoria has a blog and an online storefront? Reviewing their website has made this author very hungry! Check out their Yelp ratings, very impressive!
Now, all we need to do is take a road trip to Philly or to one of the other 5 states where they sell their product.
We added a Just for Fun question to the 2013 survey that asked people to share their favorite place to get ice cream or gelato. The answers have been great and we will be sharing some of them on our blog.
I would like to share my choices for favorite ice cream and gelato. Unfortunately, when it comes to ice cream I don't think I can pick just one. So, I won't. Here are a few of my favorite places that I have been known to get an ice cream or two.
First, you need to check out The Big Dipper in Apalacian, NY. The Big Dipper Ice Cream can be found right off Route 17 and shares a parking lot with The Big Dipper BBQ. Time your visit correctly and you can enjoy both. The Dippa serves large portions of ice cream at reasonable prices. My only complaint is that they feel the need to close during the winter months!
One of my favorite places in the world is Cape Cod, Massachusetts. There are no shortages of ice cream shops on the Cape, but my favorite is Twin Acres in Sandwich. I highly recommend a vacation on the Cape and that you spend time searching out ice cream shops on Routes 6A and 28. Same complaint here, many ice cream shops on the Cape find it necessary to close during the winter months!
As for gelato, it's an easier choice. My favorite gelato can be found at Perché no! (translation - Why Not!) in Florence, Italy! We discovered this place during our last trip and can't wait to return. Rumor has it that this author finished off their largest size gelato. All I remember is the owner asking if I had plans to eat it "by yourself"? I think he was impressed!
When I started the SocialCPAs group on LinkedIn, I was hoping to attract a few hundred accounting professionals who wanted to talk about social media. How little I knew at the time about the power of a community!
For the past few months, I have been watching the membership totals in SocialCPAs and CPA Tech Connect wondering which group would be first to hit 3,000 members. The race isn't quite over but it looks like SocialCPAs will be the winner.
I want to personally thank everyone that has joined these groups, participated in discussions and encouraged others to join.
I'm not done with LinkedIn groups and will be launching another one very soon. I hope the response to the new group will be as successful as SocialCPAs and CPA Tech Connect. Stay tuned.
