Are Circles Anything New?

Hopefully, you have had an opportunity to check out Google+.  One feature that seems to be getting a lot of attention is "Circles".  The Google+ website offers the following about Circles:

"You share different things with different people. So sharing the right stuff with the right people shouldn’t be a hassle. Circles makes it easy to put your friends from Saturday night in one circle, your parents in another, and your boss in a circle by himself - just like real life."

Almost Never Seems to be Very Popular

We launched our 2011 social media survey a few weeks ago and the response has been great.  The survey includes questions about Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media sites.  We asked people to tell us how often they tweet and update their status on LinkedIn and Facebook.

Social Media is Finally Catching On

Yes, I'm joking.  You may have heard me and thousands of others talking about the benefits of social media over the last few years.  Well, now it has become very interesting.  There have been some major shifts in the world of social media in just the last few weeks.

First, Google announced Google+ on June 28th.  The results haven't been too bad, they have only added 10 million users in just a few weeks!

Now, rumors are that Microsoft is jumping into the game.   Stay tuned...

 

Survey Says LinkedIn Still #1 with Accounting Professionals

Our 2010 survey found that LinkedIn was the most popular social media site among accounting professionals.  This year, the participants in our 2011 survey are saying the same thing!  Early results show that almost 90% of accounting professionals are using LinkedIn while just short of 80% are using Facebook.
